CONCERTO COMPETITION

2024 Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition

The MYS Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition winner earns the opportunity to perform their concerto with the MYS Symphony Orchestra at the Winter Concert.

Eligibility

• The Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition is open to students who are members of MYS Symphony Orchestra.

• Participants must be enrolled for the second trimester.

• Participants must perform on the instrument they play in MYS Symphony Orchestra. 

• Past solo competition winners are not eligible to participate.

Preliminary Round

Final Round

• Date: Sunday, October 6, 2024

• Time: 7:30–9:00 PM

• Location: Macalester College Janet Wallace Fine Arts Center, 130 S Macalester St, Saint Paul

Winter Concert Performance

• Concert Date: Sunday, February 9, 2025

• Time: 2:00 PM

• Location: Orchestra Hall, 1111 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis

Requirements

Competition requirements will be announced in July.
